Can you show us your process?
Illoguild question #17 - a look behind the scenes.
Hey there!
Welcome to our Illoguild newsletter!
We're super excited to take you on a journey behind the scenes and show you all the awesome stuff that happens in our creative process. We'll spill the beans on how we illustrate picture books, make sticker cards, design characters and even write. We aim to share our techniques so that we can learn and inspire eachother along the way. It's going to be a blast!
Furthermore, we are excited to shine the spotlight on the extremely talented Jennifer Jamieson. She works with exceptional publishers and authors and is a genius at designing characters and book covers. She also has her own middle grade book series looking for a home - “Swamp Kids”.
Lastly, our first Illoguild Live Session was a huge success! We are going to continue to do them monthly. Our next one is on Monday 4 December - Join Authors, Illustrators, and Creative Entrepreneurs in the ILLOGUILD as we discuss - How to take an illustration brief from start to finish. Click on the register here link below to see the time in your location. Hope you can make it live, but if you can’t we will post the recording for Illoguild paid subscribers.

Illoguild Illustrator Spotlight
Jennifer Jamieson began pursuing a career in children's illustration in the Spring of 2020, amid a backdrop of lockdowns, homeschooling and Zoom quizzes. After taking an online course to help bulk out her portfolio, she was really grateful to connect with a small group of likeminded creatives and become a part of Illoguid. Finding an onlien community if always important for freelancers and people that work form home, but it felt even more vital during the pandemic. In the Summer of that year, Jennifer gained representation at the The Plum Agency and has since illustrated 20 books/covers, including middlegrade, picture books and early readers. You can see her portfolio here buy her books here and read more about her process here
