Illoguild Illustrator Spotlight
Carla Hoffenberg specialises in creating captivating illustrations for children's books that inspire joy and positivity. Her artistic vision aims to make connections, start conversations, and entertain young readers.
She received her first paid commission in high school, where she was asked to create a mural featuring cute animal characters. Despite working full-time in banking and finance for over a decade, her passion for imaginative projects never waned. In March 2020, during the lockdown, she began illustrating her children around the house, turning her passion project into a full-time career.
She is thrilled to share that her first children's book, 'Little Shark Lulu is Sleeping', was published in August 2022, followed by her second book, 'Mia's Glamma', in July 2023.
Whether she's using Procreate to bring characters to life, enjoying the beautiful beaches of Sydney, or spending time with her family, she is always exploring the boundless possibilities of her visual storytelling.
We would love to hear what’s working for you or what’s not and we would also love to hear what question you think we should answer next.
