Zoom Reminder! ...and 2025 Reflection
(Illoguild topic #42: Reflection and Looking Forward)
As this year comes to a close, we reflect on what we’ve learned, what we are thankful for, and what we hope for next year. Join us as we have a nice chat and discuss our illustration goals for 2026.
Final LIVE zoom of 2025:
Monday, December 15th at 8am ET
While the hosts of Illoguild meet privately, we also offer LIVE sessions for anyone who wants to join our conversation because we know (above all) we really can’t do this alone!
Join us on the 15th of December for our final LIVE Zoom session of the year! We will be reflecting on 2025 and also sharing our plans for next year.
(You’re invited to the FREE LIVE ZOOM - however, replays are only available to PAID Subscribers)
Illoguild Announcement for 2026
Next year we will be switching to QUARTERLY Live Zooms! We are hoping to have extra time to get the word out about our LIVE sessions and to also focus on specific topics about the illustration industry. Don’t worry, we will still be sending out short monthly updates with illustration resources or book announcement we’d like to celebrate. All current members of Illoguild still plan on sharing what we are up to, information about group collaborations like Art Gym and Art Quest, and any nuggets that might help out our ever growing community!
We really appreciate all the support and encouragement we’ve received since we’ve started this side quest. Thank you for following along and joining us for our Illoguild talks!

Chantelle Holt
Shares her honest and relatable reflection of the year:
“I’ve learnt that professional work doesn’t always pay very much! And granulating watercolour paints make an interesting texture which can be good for filling big areas without having to draw lots of details. lol! I’m proud I’ve given birth and almost completed my first book for Oxford University Press with an established author and I have a book with a major franchise hopefully starting in the new year. I’ve also learnt how hard it is working to deadlines and how the whole family had to sacrifice to help me.”
Brenda Harris
Reflects on her year, shares a holiday download, and offers a New Year challenge.
Adam Ming
Reflects on family time and his goals for next year:
“I’m proud of the one time I meant to work late but went to play with my kid instead and she said ‘happy, happy’ not to anyone in particular, just a declaration to life… I don’t think it’s interesting to anyone, but it’s my most precious moment of the year, and it also sums up what the year has been like. The benefits of a creative career are moments like these, that’s why I choose it. My goal for the next year is to level up. I rushed to break into publishing and do as many books as I could, the next level, is to make this thing a lot more professional. This means saying no to bad deals and keeping to my standards. I also means I need to take care of business like refresh my portfolio, and do my agency paperwork. I’m also really excited about my collaborations with Jen and Katie and I look forward to putting a lot of time and energy into those.”
